A fascinating and detailed map of Highgate Village and Cemetery when the area was still mostly undeveloped farmland. This is believed to be the first map to focus on Highgate, specifically. The author, George Prickett, was a third-generation surveyor and auctioneer whose family had sold numerous tracts of land in and around Highgate going back to 1767. George's brother, Frederick, wrote the book about the history of Highgate in which this map was featured. The Prickett firm, now operating as Prickett & Ellis, remains a prominent local estate agent to this day.
