The Eastern and Western Hemisphere.
Two maps mounted as one to show the world as a double hemisphere. The focus is on physical geography.
The focus on the map is on physical geography, particularly the orographical or depths and land heights of the world. These are indicated by colour, which is keyed on a small panel on the upper right of each map. Several text panels on the lower corners provide information on natural phenomena. Finally, to underline its scientific nature, the route of H. M. S. Challenger is marked. This was the first and possibly one of the greatest of all oceanographic expeditions.
