Pictorial county map celebrating Hampshire's contributions to the war effort during WWII. Part of a series of decorative county maps designed and drawn by Ernest Clegg to raise funds for the Women's Land Army in the years following the War.



Decorated with the coats of arms of the county's largest cities, the badges of local regiments, and descriptions of Hampshire's contributions to the war effort. The map is dedicated (with permission) to General Dwight Eisenhower, leader of the Allied forces in Europe and a future president of the United States.



The map also features vignettes of two of the county's important buildings: Winchester Cathedral and Carisbrooke Castle on the Isle of Wight. It also celebrates Hampshire's history, listing notable figures from across the county.
