Estate (now White City), a distinct graphic layout marks the site of the
British Empire Exhibition, which opened in 23rd April 1924.

A striking red overprint marks the
London Metropolitan & District railway network, and stations. Using a
dashed red line, a line under construction runs from Edgware Road to Paddington
Station (Praed Street) – this is now a section of the Bakerloo Line, but was
here part of the abandoned route between Edgware Road and Finchley Road initially
developed as a relief line by the Ministry of Transport for the safety of
passengers.
