A New Map Containing the Towns Gentlemens Houses Villages and Other Remarks Round London
Intricate and detailed map of London and its environs extending from Windsor to Gravesend and from Reigate to Hertford. The map is helpfully overlaid by a grid of 2x2 mile squares for calculating distance. The estates of the landed gentry are marked, as are roads, windmills, and parish churches. Colour is used to differentiate between the counties. London itself only extends from Westminster to Mile End with only Southwark considered part of the city on the south side of the Thames. Original hand-colour. [LDN6337] [Howgego 49]
