Splendid large chart of the southwest coast of Scotland focusing on Argyllshire with particular detail on the Isles of Arran and Bute, Loch Lomond, Loch Fyne and Loch Long. This is another beautiful chart by the veteran surveyor Captain Charles Robinson, veteran of Owen's important but ill-fated survey of the east and west coasts of Africa. Several other officers are credited on the cartouche: Lieuts E. J. Bedford and R. Creyke and Comm. B. Drury. This survey for this whole region took three years to perform, from 1846-49.
