Detailed atlas map of Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica, with early southern United States.
The dating of this map shows the recent additions of Mississippi (Dec 1817), and Alabama (Dec 1819) and prior to the Republic to Texas it marks the Intendancy of S. Louis de Potosi - a region under Spanish military administration that covered Texas, Cohahuila, New Santader and New Leon, which existed from 1776 until 1821.
The map also details an annotation below the title: "Note ... The boundary between Mexico on the north, and the United States, is a line drawn from Cape Mendocino, (Lat. 40° 28' 40") eastward to the Rocky Mountains. The [silver] Mines indicated by a Cross, thus +"
