La Partie Occidentale della Nuova Francia o Canada
This map shows the region south of James Bay around Moose River and Fort Moose, at this time administered by the Hudson's Bay Company.
This is one of twelve sheets which combine to make the Italian edition of John Mitchell's hugely important map "A Map of the British and French Dominions in North America" first issued in 1755. Zatta's edition is believed to be the first map to use the name of "the United States" cartographically. Original hand colour.
