The Central Provinces of Madagascar
Central Madagascar centring on the Ankaratra Volcano and covering north to south from Lake Alaotra to the Matitanana river.
Based on the travels of Joseph Mullens, the Foreign Secretary of the London Missionary Society. Mullens's book, Twelve Months in Madagascar provided a level of detail about the country and its people never before received in Europe when it was published in 1875. This map was published in the Journal of the Royal Geographical Society to illustrate the places visited by the expedition. Printed colour.
