Globe Terrestre
6-inch French terrestrial globe showing ocean currents and principal
shipping routes on a bevelled black wood base. French, English, Dutch, Spanish,
Portuguese and America possessions are marked. Drawn by Charles Perigot,
professor of History and Geography at Lycée St. Louis in Paris.
Due the existence of the Congo free state the globe can be
dated lates 1908 and the depiction of separate Sweden and Norway dates the
globe to no earlier than 1905.
