This large and beautifully designed city map features a list
in the lower left of the map highlighting sites of importance and interest.
There is a key to the locations of the administrative wards and Parliamentary
divisions across the city, and also to the routes of the developing electric
tram network.

The elevations of Table Mountain (3,540 ft), Lion's Head
(2,180 ft) and Lion's Rump (1,150 ft) are included. Proposed new developments,
roads and parks are shown with dashed lines.

There are several earlier editions of this map in
institutional collections, dated 1897 and 1913, both attributed to Jan Juta and
published in "Juta's Directory of Cape Town". This 1919 example shows
where updates have been made on the map - particularly in the table of references
where a slightly different font has been used when editing or adding places of
interest.
