Die Jugoslavische Riviera / Jugoslavensko Primorje

A large, folding map of Croatia and Bosnia, specifically focused on the Dalmatian Coast, or Yugoslavian Riviera as it was known in the 1930s. Colour is used to indicate the elevation and terrain of the region, but political boundaries and roads are also marked. Red lines mark the boundaries of the 'banovinas', a new subdivision created by the Kingdom of Yugoslavia in 1929. The banovinas were largely named after rivers instead of national groups in an attempt to quell ethnic tensions. The map itself is not dated, so we can only say that it was published between 1929 and 1939 while the banovina system was in place and before the Italian invasion of Albania.
