Australia and New Zealand. Inset maps of Victoria and New South Wales. This is the later edition of the map with substantial updates and revisions.
The source referenced has changed to Augustus Petermann from Arrowsmith and Mitchell. The inset of the goldfields has been erased and the title now sits in this position. Most importantly, there are several explorer's routes added to the map, including Gregory, Stuart, McDonnell and Eyre. The last date shown on a route is 1862. A short railway is marked between Melbourne and Ballarat, presumably to service the gold strike.
Original colour. [AUNZ2950]
