A large, linen-backed, folding map of England and Wales showing the dominant geological strata of Britain as far north as Berwick. Compiled by Sir Archibald Geikie, Director-General of the Geological Survey of the United Kingdom, and published by the prestigious Scottish cartographer John Bartholomew. A legend which runs along the left-hand margin of the map explains the colouring. There are also three geological cross-sections.
