A geological folding map of Ireland, coloured to indicate the presence of 22 different rock strata according to a key in the lower-right corner. The underlying map of Ireland is exceedingly detailed, marking even the smallest towns and villages, along with antiquities, parks, railways, canals, coast guard stations, mines, lighthouses, cathedrals, bishoprics, military headquarters, and the heights of mountains.
The geological data is derived both from the Geological Survey of Ireland and from maps published by Sir Richard Griffith, author of the first complete geological map of Ireland, and J. Beete Jukes, Professor of Geology at the Royal College of Science in Dublin.
Original colour. [IRE2105]
