L'Italie Moyenne
Central Italy, comprising the Grand Duchy of Tuscany, the Papal States, and Corsica. The map extends southwards from Bologna and Emilia-Romagna to Lazio and Rome.
Philippe de Pretot oversaw the production of this series of maps and also served as a Royal Censor. In this role he was a member of a panel of experts who determined if a particular work, in this case, his own atlas, was deemed worthy of a Royal Privilege. Unsurprisingly, his atlas did not struggle to gain the royal seal of approval.
Bright original hand colour.
