Large folding map of London from the Isle of Dogs in the east to Hammersmith in the west and Kennington in the south to Islington in the north.

This map was originally issued in 1809 but extended only as far west as Brompton Row. The western extension was added in 1819-20 and shows Kensington Gardens and some of the earliest development of Kensington, Chelsea, Paddington and Hammersmith. By this issue, the map was being published by Edward Langley, his name added to this edition for the first time, although Luffman’s name was also still on the map - Luffman died in 1821.

This is the 1822 edition of the map, with the western extension, Langley’s name, and Waterloo Bridge named. Original hand colour. [SL]
