Sài Gòn (Saigon)

A substantial city plan of Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon), published by the U.S. Army Map Service less than a year before the Gulf of Tonkin Incident which sparked open conflict between the United States and Vietnam.

Drawn at an impressive 1:12,500 scale, this map shows almost every single building in the city and provides a huge amount of detail about the city's infrastructure. Main "all-weather" roads are marked with thick red lines and a lot of attention is paid to the layout of the airport.

The map's glossary is printed in English, French, and Vietnamese, but labels on the map itself are printed in English and Vietnamese only.
