A French WWI propaganda poster celebrating the entry of the United States into the war in 1917. The map's title is a quote (in French) from U.S. President Woodrow Wilson stating that the French and the Americans are brothers in the same cause. After years of neutrality, the entry of the United States into the war was a great relief to the Entente powers. The map's simplicity is its strength - it focuses only on the resources the U.S. would be bringing to the war effort, including food supplies, metals, oil, and cotton. America is described as the 'richest country in the world' with a population 14 times the size of France. It is also noted that supplies could cross the Atlantic in only 10 days, a much-needed boost for the suffering French population.
