Separately issued folding wall map of Yorkshire first issued in 1843 but here in its second edition with updates on the railway construction through the county.
Little is known about Hobson; he worked on several other wall maps of the counties including Durham and Cumberland and his style certainly borrows liberally from both the Greenwood brothers and Andrew Bryant but his most successful work was an atlas detailing the fox hunts throughout the country.
A label pasted beneath the title states that this example of the map was sold by James Wyld in Charing Cross East. Original hand colour. Folded. [YORKS999]
