Interesting plan showing the city before its explosive growth in the 1970s. At this time, the city was the centre of the tea, coffee and sisal (a type of plant used to produce fibre) trade and several of these estates are clearly marked on the map. Other estates marked include Thompson's Estate, Nairobi Hill, Riverside Drive and Upper Parkland Estate. Notable places of interest marked include the Sikh Union, the Patel Club, the Royal Nairobi Golf Club, the Racecourse and the Eastleigh Aerodrome now known as the Moi Air Base. An unusual piece.
