Map of the northwest section of Morocco from Rabat in the south to Ceuta in the north detailing the position of multiple desert tribes.
Walter B. Harris, the author of the map was a famous adventurer, journalist and traveller. Based in Tangier, he regularly disguised himself as a Moroccan and explored the interior of the desert. He wrote several volumes and essays about Morocco and its. He was also a friend of one of the most famous and feared Berber bandit and or rebel chieftains Mulai Ahmet er Raisuli who is often known as the "last of the Barbary Pirates."
In the early 20th century, he became a permanent correspondent for The Times and was awarded the Legion d'Honneur for his help in facilitating contact between local tribes and the French authorities.Printed colour. [AFR5878]
