Detailed and boldly engraved county map of Sussex, divided into territorial subdivisions (each known as a "rape") and showing the developing road network, estates such as Petworth House and locations such as Battle Abbey and Arundel Castle.
The map is bordered with locally discovered antiquities including a selection of Roman coins, the late 1st Century "Pudens Stone" (or "Chichester Inscription") a damaged marble slab found in 1723, and the 13th Century Latin "Magnus Inscription" - the engraved archway of Church of St John sub Castro in Lewes dedicated to Danish general named Magnus
