Amer. Sep. De La Vieille Californie
Important and early lithographic map of Baja California from Misión San Francisco Borja near El Rosarito to La Paz. Across the Gulf of California, the adjacent Mexican states of Sonora and Sinaloa from Isla Tiburón and to Culiacán.
The new process of lithography has skillfully emphasised the mountainous terrain of the regions. Almost in line with the mountain ridge along the Peninsula, a trail that extends the entire length between every marked mission from Misión San Francisco Borja just west of Bahía de los Ángeles, to Misión de Loreto (founded 1697) near Conchó.
Original hand colour. (SL)
