A Map of the Provinces of Delhi, Harah, Sude, and Ellahabad
Large and spectacularly detailed map of Uttar Pradesh, surveyed by James Rennell for the British East India Company. According to the map's title, it covers the "countries lying between Delhi and the Bengal Provinces". This corresponds almost exactly to the modern borders of the state of Uttar Pradesh. This map was compiled and drawn by Andrew Dury, who, in the upper-right corner of the map, lists the Directors of the East India Company by name and thanks them for their patronage. It was published by the partnership of Robert Laurie and James Whittle.
Original hand-colour. [IC935]
