Description:

|
An ornate Dutch Golden Age map of the Cyclades and Dodecanese Islands in the southern Aegean Sea, including Samos, Andros, Paros, Naxos, Milos, Mykonos, and Santorini. Blaeu credits his source on the cartouche: Johannes Laurenberg was a German geographer, mathematician, and poet who drew eight maps of Greece and its surrounding islands. These were regularly used by the Golden Age Dutch publishing houses as their main source for maps of this region.
