Description:
Handsome 8-inch French terrestrial globe, marking ocean currents in blue and commercial routes in red. Geography is dated to circa 1928; the globe marks Peiking (now Beijing) rather than Peiping (1928), and Constantinople is yet to become Istanbul (1930). Although unusually the name Petrograd still stands despite being updated to Leningrad in 1924, and and Oslo is still named Christiana (a change that occurred in 1929).

Sat upon a traditional bevelled black wooden pedestal. Printed globe gores. Stands 33cm tall. Slight wear across surface. [GLOBE411]
