An interesting map of the Arabian Peninsula noting the pilgrimage route from Basra to Mecca as well as the important wells along the route.
The shape of the Peninsula follows Moll's unusual interpretation first issued on his large map of the Ottoman Empire used in his flagship atlas "The World Described". Unlike many of his other maps, this geographical depiction seems to be specific to Moll although there are geographical elements used by Nicolas Sanson on a map first issued in 1657.
