The Battle of Waterloo was the culmination of the Napoleonic Wars and was fought between the French on one side and an alliance of British, Dutch, Belgian and Prussian troops on the other. The French were defeated and it led to Napoleon's exile on the island of St. Helena in the Atlantic.
