Vintage plan of Berkeley issued as a promotional leaflet for the Berkeley Chamber of Commerce to encourage travel and business in the city.
It is difficult to date this map precisely but both the Golden Gate Fields race course and the Berkeley Yacht Harbour are laid out in rudimentary form, suggesting a publishing date of the late 1940s or early 1950s. Cesar Chavez Park on the northern part of Berkeley Yacht Club was founded in 1957 and there is no indication of that feature on this map.
