Fred H. Stingemore
13 x 15 cm
This is the uncommon first edition of Fred Stingemore’s trifold pocket maps, which were issued from 1925-1932. These maps were popular with the public for their small size and colourful covers. Stingemore continues to show the Underground lines geographically, but he has removed all background details (even the River Thames!) to make the map as legible as possible. Editions from April 1926 onwards would add the river back onto to the map. To show the outer edges of the Tube network, the central area remains cramped in places. This is the rarest and most collectible of the Stingemore editions.
