incomplete sketch by Harry Beck, the designer of the iconic London Underground
map. The hastily drawn sketch focuses on Southwest London as it intends to show
a proposed new layout for the District Line branch to Richmond. Much of the map
is composed of crude pencil sketches, but the relevant areas have been tidied
up and straightened with colour pencil. Though the map itself is unsigned (as
you would expect of a crude sketch), rigorous handwriting analysis confirms
that this is almost certainly the work of Harry Beck.
