Harry Beck
65 x 86 cm
A rare 1936 ‘Double Crown’ station poster, designed by Harry Beck. This is the second of three Beck posters to feature the bizarre enlarged central area with the diamond station icons. London Transport’s Publicity Department were obsessed with the idea that passengers needed more detail for the central section of the map even if it did ruin the clarity of the map. This is currently the only for-sale example – even the London Transport Museum does not have this map.
Printed colour. Laid down on archival linen. Framed. [LDN6952]
