Harry Beck
14 x 20 cm
Harry Beck's now-iconic map of the London Underground was first issued to the public in January, 1933. A second edition was printed in February, 1933 to reflect the opening of Southgate and Enfield West stations. A third edition appeared in April, 1933 to coincide with the release of the first Quad Royal poster edition of the map. This fourth, undated, edition was issued around August, and there were two more editions in September and December, 1933. All of the 1933 editions are sought-after by collectors as they represent the beginning of the modern Tube map.
Printed colour.
