A vintage map of Europe showing the political situation just prior to the start of WW2. Germany and its allies are in red, neutrals are in grey, and Britain, France and their allies are in yellow. This map was published after the Italian annexation of Albania in April 1939, but was likely published before Germany's declaration of war on Poland in September.
A box inside each country lists the population, army size, and air force strength of each nation. Five additional text boxes list the navy size of the major nations of Europe: Britain, France, Germany, Russia, and Italy. Major industries and commodities are noted on the map, as are naval bases, railways, canals, and fortified lines. A small inset map shows the theatre of war between Japan and China in Manchuria.
