The Battle of Culloden (16th April 1746) was the final significant engagement of the Jacobite Rebellion. After a battle which lasted just over an hour, almost 2,000 Jacobite soldiers out of a total force of 5-6,000 were killed, the Jacobite army was scattered, and the Rebellion collapsed.
