Abraham Ortelius
39 x 51 cm
Regni Hispaniae Post Omnium Editio Nes Locupletissima Descriptio.
This is the first atlas map of the Iberian Peninsula and is based on the work of several cartographers. In his "Catalogum Auctorum" Ortelius mentions Giacomo Gastaldi, Vincentius Corsulensis, Henricus Gorchomius and Thomas Geminus for his main sources.
As is often the case, it became the template for maps of the region for over fifty years after its original publication in 1570.
