Southeastern section of one of Bacon's four sheet maps of London.
This is an update of an earlier four sheet plan of London issued by the Bacon firm from the early 1890s onwards. The colouring has been substantially lightened, making the map easier to read. The urban railway network, both underground and overground, is shown in red and the extent of the city has been broadened.
Geographically, the sheet now includes Greenwich, Blackheath, Dulwich, Peckham Clapham and Balham. The map shows the southern banks of the Thames from Rotherhithe to Battersea and stretches south to Forest Hill.
