A charming folding map of London with illustrations of 14 landmark buildings. Underground lines are marked in red. This map was published to advertise the Devonshire House Temperance Hotel, a Quaker-run hotel aimed at non-drinking visitors to London. Though the map itself is undated, the inclusion of illustrations of the new "Old Bailey" building and the War Office building tell us that it was certainly published after 1906-7. We also know that Devonshire House, for centuries the British headquarters of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), was sold and demolished in 1925, giving us an estimated publication date of 1910-1920.

The map folds down into a small booklet whose cover is decorated with an illustration of the Devonshire House Hotel. Further information about London transport, a street index, and a list of hotel room fares are also included in the booklet.
