George W. Bacon
56 x 72 cm
Separately issued folding vintage city plan of Liverpool with an inset of the dock area extending north of the map on the lower left.
This city plan was part of a series published by George Washington Bacon in the 1880s. Liverpool became one of the great northern cities of the country during the Victorian period and therefore a mainstay of this series. Although Bacon's name is still used on the map, the firm had long been owned by the venerable publishing house of W. & A.K Johnston of Edinburgh who continued to use the Bacon imprint for marketing purposes.
